IMCS Marine and Cargo surveyors - Associate Membership
Associate Membership
Both the fact that all IMCS Group Members have good contacts with marine professionals worldwide, and the interest of companies and individuals to join the IMCS Group of Companies allowed us to set up an Associate Membership Scheme.
Associate Members are companies that value the importance of joining an internationally recognized group of marine surveyors and consultants. However, due to local legislation and regulations they are not able to change their local trade name and/or have to keep an independent status in their geographical area. By joining the IMCS Group of Companies the Associate Members guarantee local IMCS representation, and at the same time benefit from the international exposure and expertise of the IMCS Group.
Associate Members are carefully selected and subject to a thorough screening process during a one year trial period, supplemented with additional training if necessary before they are allowed to join the IMCS Group.
The Associate Membership Scheme offers important benefits to the Associate Member in the form of economy of scale on training matters, education, insurance issues as well as legal and technical support. The IMCS Group provides a web-based platform and forum that allows Members and Associate Members to exchange views and information on line with other IMCS Branches for peer assessment, support and assistance.
The main advantages of the associate membership can be summarized as follows:
Enhancing maritime knowledge and local expertise through association with different reputable marine survey offices/surveyors in different areas world-wide on a non-competency basis.
Setting up a mutually rewarding and beneficial professional relationship.
Creating a bigger platform for exchanging views between marine professionals, surveyors and consultants.
Expanding the existing IMCS network and offering increased flexibility to principals.
Associate Members can benefit from advantages already achieved by the IMCS group through economy of scale, networking, prospection and publicity.
Associate Members are allowed and encouraged to partake in IMCS Group training schemes and meetings.
Creating a think-tank for maritime solutions and services through teamwork and setting-up a forum for inquiries, debates/discussions etc.
So far, 7 marine survey offices have been allowed to join the IMCS Group of Companies as Associate Members. Associate Members are marked on the Offices list on the home page with an asterisk (*)
