IMCS-Portugal offers its services in all Portuguese ports on the mainland, as well as on the islands. We offer the full range of marine and hull & machinery surveys, cargo services and transport consultancy at a high professional level and at competitive rates. IMCS-Portugal also provides more specialised services such as condition surveys of project cargo and loss prevention advice. We have a good relationship with the local insurance market, P&I Club correspondents and many of the major shipping agencies. Since becoming operational early 2001, IMCS-Portugal has been involved in cases concerning cargo damages, hull & machinery damages, "fit to load" cargo surveys and on/off hire surveys in all Portugese ports.

Capt. J. Boven has spent his entire working life in the shipping business, first at sea, serving in all ranks, then managing the operations department of a Dutch heavy lift, towage and salvage company.

The last fifteen years John was active as a senior marine consultant and surveyor operating from the IMCS-Rotterdam office and as from early 2001 he is in charge as managing owner of the IMCS-Portugal office.
